Sometimes a little positive feedback can go a long way. I got some positive feedback from one of my students today. Needless to say, I'm having a great day!

Growth, Reflection, & Challenge- Day 2

I'm reflecting on my practice today. I'm reflecting on my purpose. I'm reflecting on accommodations, modifications, interventions, & differentiation. But really, all of these "things" special educators work so hard to to implement & prepare are at the mercy of communication.

Today, in keeping with my 30 day challenge, I sought new & effective ways to enhance communication between educators, and other service providers. Communication can be difficult and become a barrier to effective practice when professionals get lost in the minutiae of conducting business. However, if communication is truly important, then we, our colleagues, and our students deserve that time.

11/5/2010- Today I reviewed research on dyslexia and other forms of print based disabilities. I looked at Shaywitz & others. I'm excited to learn more & put my learning to practice.
